| Choose your domain name. The first step is to choose your domain name, this is your website address. We will search for your desired name, if this is unavailable we will suggest an alternative. Website design. We provide a free no obligation website outline which will include the basics of your website i.e. your company brochure, pictures and text about your products/services. This is a basic site and will include only one or two pages e.g. home page and one other. This site is just a sample of what the final site will look like. We work on a fixed-price basis and normally stick to our original estimate. Following further discussion regarding the scope of the content in the web site, and after you have approved the style and cost, we would proceed and complete the project. The cost of this would range from £299 upwards, depending on the complexity of the site. Obviously as the content increases, the cost increases. Website Hosting. A website has to be hosted by an ISP (Internet Service Provider), e.g. Freeserve, BT, AOL plus commercial and business hosting services. This is like a ‘parking space’ on the internet. The web site will not function without a host. We provide hosting for 2 years included in the total cost of your website. Search Engine Optimization. This is the term used to describe the various techniques available to get your website listed on the first few pages of most of the main search engines. There is not much point in having a great website if no one can find it! Entire books have been written about getting a good listing on the search engines. However we use tried and tested techniques which will normally ensure that your site is included on the first few pages of the principal search engines within one month of completion. For example - Google which is the largest search engine in the world, and Yahoo which is the largest one used by UK residents. This service is provided as part of the budget and does not incur any additional cost. If you wish to use any of the many advertised Search Engine Optimization companies currently advertising we can arrange this for you. If you wish to have a guaranteed listing on page one of the main search engines you may also submit your site yourself and pay the required fee direct to the search engine. These fees vary considerably and are often too expensive for the small business. |
